Materials Science Centre, Indian Institute of Technology, Kharagpur, India
Dr. Souvik deserves an immense amount of congratulations for his article, "Novel insights on the grain boundary α phase microstructure formation and orientation development in Ti-6Al-4V alloy".
The SERB has approved the project on the development of wrought Al-Cu-Mn-Zr (ACMZ) alloys for high temperature (over 350degC) applications.
Madhavi Kreeti has earned a Ph.D. post at IIT Guwahati. Congratulations!
Congratulations, Dr. M. Mohan Babu, on receiving the esteemed Marie Skłodowska-Curie Actions (MSCA) postdoctoral fellowship 2023 at Department of Chemistry and Bioscience, Aalborg University, Denmark.
Shibayan Roy's NPTEL course on "Techniques of Materials characterization" has successfully ended.
SPP is an IIT Kharagpur-based research lab group in the Materials Science Centre lead by Dr. Shibayan Roy since 2016. The group tries to correlate the mechanical behavior with the microstructures in the different systems (Metal-based alloys, Composites, and Glass-ceramics). The main purpose of the SPP group is to interrelate and find the link between the three main stems, i.e., Structure, Property, and Processing in various systems.
The lab group is very diverse and has no barriers in terms of background. It includes Physicists, Metallurgists, Ceramists, Nano-technologists, and Mechanical people and is open to many more such minds who are very passionate and enthusiasts for research and can dive in and explore the limitless extremities.
